Hamilton: An American Journal

Every January 1st, I resolve to journal or blog on a daily basis. And every January 5th (6th, if I haven't been distracted by something shiny), I realize how much I suck at the whole daily journaling thing.

This year I'm going to try something different. I'll no longer obsess about posting something every day, as this invariably leads to me having a backlog of 27 entries to write by mid-February, and then the task is so daunting I give up entirely. I'll still try to post daily, but I'll also try not to judge myself too harshly when I inevitably fail.

To make it more fun, I'm also going to tie my entries to a theme or phrase from the hit Broadway show Hamilton. I have a friend who believes there's a Hamilton line for every situation in life, just waiting to be quoted.

Let's find out if she's right.
